T-Mobile was hacked in a giant data breach where 37 million accounts had their information stolen.
The following data points were taken: billing addresses, emails, phone numbers, dates of birth and full name.
If you have a T-Mobile account you should begin actively monitoring all your accounts as well as considering an identity protection service such as Norton Life Lock.
There is no indiciation from T-Mobile yet on how this breach happened or what they are doing to prevent further hacks and data breaches.
The only quote given by T-Mobile that could be found was the following:
“Protecting our customers’ data remains a top priority,” T-Mobile said in a statement. “We will continue to make substantial investments to strengthen our cybersecurity program.”
T-Mobile also claims that they have been investing big in cyber-security the last few years.
